Business Leaders Urge Trump to Support Clean Energy

“In a letter to the President-elect, hundreds of business leaders and investors stress the need to support clean energy and stay in the Paris climate agreement,” reports Zahra Hirji, a Boston-based reporter for InsideClimate News.

More than 600 U.S. companies and investors have signed an open letter asking President-elect Donald Trump and other political leaders to support policies and investments in a low-carbon future. They also urged Trump to keep America in the Paris climate agreement. Collectively, these businesses have nearly $1.15 trillion in annual revenue, are located across 44 states and employ about 1.8 million people.

The letter was orchestrated by eight sustainability and environmental groups, including Boston-based, Ceres, a group that encourages businesses to show leadership on climate issues.  Ceres’ president, Mindy Lubber, is also a GRC member.
